| Details: | SUMMARY: Junction City is reviewing new well sites DETAILS: The city is exploring options to ensure that they will have adequate water during the summer of 2007. Options include rehabing the 8th and Deal to reduce sand pumped, reconstructing 8th and Front well to eliminate nitrate and the possibility of drilling a new well. Three property sites are available: one NW of the City near Oaklea Rd, a second site SW of the City near Prairie and Bailey Lane, and a third east of the City on 5th St. The initial delineation work suggests that the aquifer thins to the west and the south. Also, Junction City is expanding to the west. Aquifer is probably thicker to the east. City needs additional information. ACTION NEEDED: DN will review area well logs to refine aquifer distribution and will redelineate the City using the three sites individually. Assumed pumping rate = 650gpm | ||
