| Details: | SUMMARY: Haven Acres water system responsibility #2 DETAILS: I contacted Preston Polasek (City Manager?) and Dave True (City Engineer) to discuss the issue. The did not dispute what Brent had said. They said it would be discussed at the city council meeting that night. Dave said that the City does not consider it part of their system, though there is no master meter. I informed him it should be considered part of the system given the current configuration. I discussed their 2 options: 1) put a master meter on the 8 inch line serving the area and Haven Acres would have to form an association and would be their own system purchasing water from the City, or 2) since they are metered and paying the City directly, the area is currently considered part of the Citys system, and they need to maintain the system and make sure that public health is protected. I tried to stress that public health needs to be addressed, and they seemed to realize the importance and hope to resolve the issue shortly. ACTION NEEDED: Preston and Dave said they would get back to me after the Council has made a decision as to their course of action - may need follow-up. | ||
