Details: SUMMARY: 10/27/06 sample TC pos DETAILS: Linda stated that the well pump was cycling too frequently and waterlogging the pressure tanks, so was pulled recently. Alson Pump added check valve, pump was reinstalled, and well was chlorinated with one gal of bleach and several chlorine tablets. This was done recently, but Linda thinks it likely that space no. 4 was positive because she did not flame the faucet. 4 repeat samples submitted today. Per Grants Pass lab, the repeat collected at well tested pos. while remaining 3 samples tested neg. Unusual result. Scott Curry and I discussed and agreed that either well sample was not collected properly, or there is a very low level of coliform in the system. Per Scott’s advice, asked Linda to take 1 special sample at well to verify results. 11/03- Special sample collected on 11/01 at well was TC pos. Notified Linda that she would need to shock entire system and post PN for MCL violation in October. Linda will shock system this weekend and resample next week. 11/14- Special sample at source passed while the rec. area failed. Spoke with Linda. When she flushed system after shocking she only flushed through rec. area faucet. She will shock again and flush through all faucets, then take more special samples. 11/30- Spoke with Linda. Owner is going to have changes made to system’s plumbing. Linda has resigned as the park manager, suggested I contact owner directly. Called owner Skip Hedrich at 541-855-9217 and left message. Spoke with him about problem and shared some details. He will take three samples on Mon. to see if there is still a problem. We will talk again. 12/18- Per Neilson- 4 routine samples on 8/15 all passed. ACTION NEEDED: System has gotten away from sampling schedule due to persistent TC problems. These appear to be resolved. System should resume routine monthly sampling Jan. 07.
