| Details: | SUMMARY: alert-copper DETAILS: Spoke with Jeff several times about recent lead and copper sampling at Elmira high/elementary and fern ridge middle school. I received an alert on 10/31/07 for elmira high/elementary excceding the action level for copper. The sample date was 9/28/07 and during this time Jeff was adjusting his caustic soda dosing because he changed to 50% caustic liquid solution. The pH was not as high as it should be according to the minimum pH level set in 2003, the minimum pH for this system is 7.2. Talked with Jeff about the recent exceedance and notified him that we will required two 6 months lead and copper rounds 20 samples each in 2008, if those are below the 90th percentile Pb level of 0.005 mg/L and 90th percentile Cu levels of 0.65 they can go back to reduced monitoring of 10 samples every three years. ACTION NEEDED: Maintain pH above 7.2 target level is 7.8. Take two rounds 6 month rounds of L &C samples 20 samples each in 2008. | ||
