| Details: | SUMMARY: Optimal Corrosion Control Treatment - Update DETAILS: I spoke with Jim Young today to get an update on their progress towards compliance with the Lead and Copper Rule and Corrosion Control Requirements. Jim reported that the required 6-month compliance samples from 60 homes were collected on 12/17/2007. They have maintained a pH in the distribution of 7.9-8.1 and 8.2-8.3 leaving the Albany-Millersburg Joint WTP. They also replaced their pH meters to assure field units are within 0.3 pH units of the lab instruments. Jim is hopeful that this round of sampling will be in compliance. If it is not, Albany will budget for 2008-2009 to complete a full corrosion control study (using a consultant). ACTION NEEDED: Await results of December sampling. Use results to specify optimal corrosion control treatment (as required by rules due 12/31/2007). All other sampling and public notice requirements remain in effect. | ||
