Details: SUMMARY: Lead Action Leve Exceeded at 90th Percentile in Sample Taken 10/16/07 DETAILS: 11/21/07 Spoke to Patty Farkas about the Lead situation. She said the high test came form the kitchen sink in the apartment she lives in. We reviewed proper sampling protocols and they were ok. 11/27/07 Spoke to Pete Farrelly at DHS-DWP about the situation. I told him I would talk to BVW about coming up with a plan to deal with this situation. The following is a potential plan: 1) Do more sampling, 2) Assuming any additional MH testing passes but office/apt sites are high, then concentrate on the office/apts as the problem and investigate if plumbing or fixtures is cause. Start with fixture replacement in the office/apt and then retest. If still high, then plumbing replacement then retest. Assuming the samples pass at this point, then test 10 sites within 6 months including the sites originally tested. If all pass, then potentially return to annual testing and eventually every 3 year testing. 3) If any MHs and office/apt sites are high, then do source lead testing and WQPs. 4) If MHs and office/apt pass, then test 10 sites within 6 months including the sites originally tested. If all pass, then potentially return to annual testing and eventually every 3 year testing. The other option is to forget the above and follow standard protocol which is to test the source for Lead and do WQPs. Pete & Tom C suggested we get BVW to do 10 samples every 3 years. That way they could get a clearer picture of the situation. But they still need to sample 10 legitimate sites in 6 months, whatever they do. ACTION NEEDED: I will review the above with BVW and then let Pete know what they decide to do.
