| Details: | SUMMARY: Response to Total Coliform Violation DETAILS: I spoke with Rob today regarding the two total coliform repeats that came back positive on 10/9/08 for 10/8/08 sample, which followed a routine positive on 10/7/08. All samples were e.coli absent, so a total coliform MCL has occurred. Rob has flushed affected portion of distribution system. Rob will shock chlorinate well that supplies portion of distribution system that had positive samples (well #2). In meantime this area is being served by well #3. ACTION NEEDED: Rob will take special total coliform samples after shock chlorinating well #2 and flushing the system. Rob will also replace pump in well #2, which Interlachen has had some difficulties with. I mentioned that a public notice (Tier 2) will need to be filed within 30 days of learning of the violation on 10/9, and that a copy of the notice will need to be forwarded to DWP within 10 days of filing notice. Also mentioned that five routine total coliform samples will need to be taken in November. Interlachen to contact DWP if routine coliform samples come up positive. DWP to provide support as necessary, especially if additional samples are positive. | ||
