Details: SUMMARY: Positive routine and repeat total coliform DETAILS: July 11, 2008 KCEHD received a quality alert stating that there were 3 repeat samples for this water system which showed as total coliform positive. I spoke with Waiyen Lee about what his plans are to correct the problem. Mr. Lee mentioned that he plans on chlorinating the tank at 5ppm. And introducing it to the line. Then after disinfection they plan on flushing the chlorine out of the system. Public Notice is being finalized today and posted within 24 hours or less. Users are being advised to use bottled water or boil the water during the weekend due to the waters elevated chlorine levels and possible bacteria, factors which are included on the Public Notice. ACTION NEEDED: After the system is disinfected and chlorine is fluched out of the system, five routine samples will be taken the following month, according to Mr. Lee.
