| Details: | SUMMARY: Quarterly coliform sample and 3 of 4 repeat samples are positive DETAILS: Had e-mail correspondence with Gary Watts who is the owner of Alpine Pump and assists with the water sampling and upkeep on the Alpine WC. He stated they “were on it” in his e-mail. On Friday 4/10/08 an alert was received that three of four samples were positive. In a second e-mail, I asked if he had any idea why the system is continuing to have positive samples. He stated the samples were taken on the well, a tank and two in the distribution system, but did not indicate the source of the problem. I e-mailed Gary to let him know that he needed to shock chlorinate the well, distribute a public notice for the MCL violation and forward a copy of the notice to me via fax. I suggested taking a special sample after shock chlorination was complete to see if it was effective. He was instructed to submit five temporary routine samples in May. ACTION NEEDED: Wait for results of five temporary samples in May. | ||
