| Details: | SUMMARY: follow up on e.coli positive source sample DETAILS: Carrie called this morning to request technical assistance after the monthly GWR assessment source monitoring sample from 2/27/10 came back e.coli positive at their well on 3/1/10. I indicated normal contact was Washington County. I indicated that, if the system does not take corrective action right away, the system should take five additional source samples and have them analyzed for coliform. I also recommended taking a distribution system coliform sample as well. Afterward, system would consult with us and the County on next steps, possibly corrective action and public notice. I spoke with Joseph Federico at Washington County (503) 846-4935, to relay my discussion with her, and the recommended potential next steps, including boosting the chlorine residual throughout the system to provide adequate disinfection. ACTION NEEDED: System to work with lab to try and take five additional source coliform samples today (3/4), as well as distribution sample. System to consult with County on next steps after receiving results from samples. DWP to provide support to County until resolution is achieved. | ||
