Details: SUMMARY: Positive coliform 2/2/10 DETAILS: Sent this email to Gary. Sorry to see your recent sample showed coliform bacteria. This could be due to accidentally contaminating the sample bottle or failure of your UV light or a break somewhere in the water line after the UV light. Taken repeat samples is costly. The rules ask you to take 4 repeat samples ASAP to determine if it was an accident or if there is water contamination. A 5th sample is also required which should be marked as a Source sample. It should be taken from a tap before the UV light zaps the water. If any of the above 5 samples how the presence of coliform bacteria please call me to discuss what is going on. In March the rules require 5 temporary routine samples are to be taken. The words I have capitalized is the way the lab slips are supposed to be marked. ACTION NEEDED: $ repeats ASAP and 5 temporary routines in March.
