Details: SUMMARY: Tetrachloroethylene conerns DETAILS: System serves 17 connections with approximately 45 people. The system is composed of a well that feeds into a 20,000 gallon steel reservoir. From here the water feeds to the booster pumps that pressurize a bladder tank. Chlorination is added after the bladder tank for iron removal. Tetrachloroethylene (PCE) has been found in the water and the source has been isolated to the reservoir. The PCE is within the MCL set by the EPA. The existing reservoir has a liner within it that is not full height. With the water mixing between the reservoir walls and the liner, the PCE may be getting into the system. Removing the existing liner and cleaning and coating the inside of the reservoir may prevent the PCE from getting back into their system. I met with operator on site to inspect the suspect tank. Provided report outlining general instructions and costs for relining the inside of the existing reservoir. ACTION NEEDED: None at this time.
