Assistance Type: WATER QUALITY ALERT RESPONSE
Reasons: Lead or Copper
Lead/Copper

Details: SUMMARY: Alert for copper at 3.42 mg/l DETAILS: Two sample sites out of 5 exceeded the copper action level, City Hall at 3.31 mg/l and a single family residence at 3.54 mg/l. The action level has never been previously exceeded since sampling began in 1993. The City Hall site is really not representative and should be replaced with a residential site. The residential site that exceeded this year had a new faucet installed which likely affected the result. Therefore, another 2 rounds of samples are recommended using valid sites. ACTION NEEDED: Samples for water quality parameters should be taken in January and June of 2010. Also, two rounds of 5 copper samples should be taken from re-evaluated sample sites in January & June 2010.
