Details: SUMMARY: Response to total coliform positive routine DETAILS: I spoke to Rick on 9/30/10 at 430 pm regarding follow up for a routine total positive taken on 9/28 at SE Butler Rd. Gresham to take required 3 repeats and notify their wholesalers that source sampling needs to be taken (Rockwood & Portland). I indicated that MCL for total was that no more than 5% of the samples required in any month may be positive. Gresham takes 70 a month, so 4 samples would need to be positive (only two total positive so far in September), so no violation yet. Rick stated that Gresham working with lab to improve notification procedures on coliform sampling. On 10/4/10, Rick stated that all 3 repeats absent. Rockwood only using their well #5, and a sample taken on 9/28 was also coliform absent at this source. ACTION NEEDED: No action needed at this time. DWP to provide support to Gresham on coliform sampling and reporting protocols as requested.
