Details:	SUMMARY: SRF Funding Assistance DETAILS: Laurel Acres operates a small system that serves approximately 50 people through 18 connections. Water from the well is chlorinated then pumped to a 6,000 gallon storage tank. From there water is re-pressurized and distributed throughout the system. System has had positive coliform from their source water, which triggered source water monitoring per the EPA Standards. The samples also tested positive for e-coli. The EPA groundwater Rule mandates that corrective actions are taken to either fix the source of the problem or provide for 4-log treatment of the viruses that would be associated with positive e-coli results. System had originally contacted HBH to provide assistance with compliance with the Ground Water Rule (GWR). Recommendations were made that detailed how system could comply with the GWR. HBH was subsequently contacted to provide assistance with funding application for a new well. I met with system personnel, Rural Community Assistance Corp and Washington County financing officials regarding needed infrastructure improvements. Discussion revolved around options for replacing well to attempt to bring system into compliance with the GWR. ACTION NEEDED: Continue to assist system with cost estimates and other funding application assistance.
