Details:	SUMMARY: Discussed nitrate compliance DETAILS: Adam called me in response to messages I left for Jimmie and Glendoris Harkleroad as the owners of the water system. System has a nitrate treatment system in place, but continues to have sample results exceed the MCL for nitrate. I explained to Adam that DWP will need to take action to ensure that the system is consistently in compliance with the nitrate MCL. We discussed having a compliance agreement signed to show at least a years worth of quarterly samples below the nitrate MCL and a plan to properly operate the nitrate treatment. Adam said that currently Ecowater is only maintaining the system when sample results show a problem. I explained that there has to be some regular and frequent monitoring and maintenance of the nitrate treatment to make sure nitrate levels are below the MCL and to correct problems more quickly. We also discussed the system purchasing a small nitrate measuring system whether test strips or a reagent based system to test the water coming from treatment more frequently than once every quarter. ACTION NEEDED: Help the system create an plan to better operate and maintain the current nitrate treatment system.
