| Details: | SUMMARY: E Coli Well #2 Follow-up DETAILS: Alan called to report that Well #2 remains offline, however they did shock chlorinate the well and water now is free of bacterial contamination. I explained to Alan that in accordance with the groundwater rule, our geologist must first evaluate the well construction prior to any decisions about returning the well to service. We discussed that if the well was found to be constructed properly, that disinfection vs residual maintenance would be needed, and that the disinfection (4 log viral reduction) we need to be demonstrated to DWP. I told Alan to keep well offline until DWP determines he can return it to service. Alan also mentioned that they may have questions about the wording of the required public notice. I said he must send a copy of the PN to DWP for review and approval prior to mailing it out. ACTION NEEDED: Contact County regarding this conversation. | ||
