Details: SUMMARY: Discussed DBP monitoring DETAILS: I called Chuck Williams based upon a request from Rick Sherman at Marion County. Chuck stated that the systems team at Breitenbush realized that they needed to sample for TTHM and HAA5 this year, but were notified by Waterlab that they were outside the seasonal period for sampling. Chuck was trying to determine if they should collect samples at this point. I notified Chuck that the regulations require sampling in the period of warmest water temperature, and because that has passed there would be a violation generated in any case. I stated that sampling at this point in the year might provide some "peace of mind," but that the DBP sampling history for the system doesnt indicate that TTHM or HAA5 levels are likely to be a concern. I dont think it is necessary or a good use of resources at this point in the year. I will confer with Gregg Baird to determine if he believes samples should be collected. ACTION NEEDED: None
