| Details: | SUMMARY: January 21, 2012 turbidity event DETAILS: PWB had a turbidity event on Jan 21, 2012. Turbidity rose rapidly from 2 ntu to above 5 ntu in 4 minutes, likely due to a landslide on the south fork tributary. Lusted hill facility (entry point for water system) had a max turbidity of 2.44 ntu on that date, so system was able to shut down prior to highly turbid water entering the distribution system. Fecal counts for that day were less than 1. Event is considered unusual and unpredictable, so no violations under OAR 333-061-0032 (2)(b). System has drained and backflushed conduits, disinfected conduits and sampled - approval for returning the conduits to service was given in late January. ACTION NEEDED: No further action at this time. | ||
