Details: SUMMARY: Nitrate alert DETAILS: Firm reported nitrate result of 17.9 but sample was pulled from location before treatment. Sample should have been marked as special. A new sample is planned for the first week in January. Additionally we discussed the points regarding the source sampling and public notice. Annual source testing is required in addition to the quarterly coliform. This is so that any well issues are not masked by the implementation of the disinfection system. It may be that the source sample in June can be used to return to compliance and remove the points associated with the violations. A copy of the public notice from June needs to be provided so the points for that violation can be removed through a return to compliance process. ACTION NEEDED: New nitrate sample submitted. Copy of public notice posted in June provided to the state. State response regarding source sample adequacy.
