Details: SUMMARY: Follow up to complaint DETAILS: Email to Joe with following information.Joe,- I didn’t know this but… “special” samples are only for non-potable water situations, not for samples that are just outside of the routine ones thus special samples do not get logged into the state computer system, so we ask that you contact the lab and change the sample on the North side Drinking Fountain from special to routine, so there is a record of the most recent TC tests after this complaint. You can then ask the lab to resend the now routine/corrected results to the state or me and I will submit for you. (I’m sorry about giving you wrong direction on this sample)-Did a sample of the “south side” drinking fountain get done? The two specials say north side fountain.-Regarding any compromise of the spring or the short distribution line to the north side fountain---I was told there is a lot of puddling of water on the ground just north of the drinking fountain. Is that typical, or atypical and where do you think the water might be coming from?- Evan and I were discussing the construction of the spring, does ODOT have the spring construction plans that you can get us a copy of? The Source Water Assessment done by state engineers in 2000 shows the system is considered sensitive, some spring construction deficiencies were identified and it’s considered susceptible to surface water runoff. Again, we are doing due diligence and covering all possibilities given the complaint. The complaintee shared with me that when her doctor asked about untreated water and she shared her consumption of Sunset Spring water the MD stated “ she has heard of issues with that water” . We know that is a non-validated statement but there is some misperception out there so we want to make sure all bases are reviewed at this time. ACTION NEEDED: Pending
