| Details: | SUMMARY: Follow up to low pressure localized event - pump failure DETAILS: DWS Staff on call (Tony Fields) assisted the City of Greshams Dwayne Barnes and Keely Thompson in responding to a loss of pressure event to approximately 130 homes on Gresham Butte in the south central area of town served by the Gabbert reservoir due to a pump failure to the affected area on 10/18. Since the City could not confirm positive pressure in the area, the City issued a localized boil water notice after speaking with DWS by going door to door to the customers handing out notices and updating their website. The City followed DWS best management practices to restore adequate minimum 20 psi pressure and service, flush the affected area, ensure an adequate chlorine residual and collect coliform samples. The coliform samples were determined to be absent on Sunday 10/19 and the boil water notice was lifted. ACTION NEEDED: DWS to support City in future to manage low pressure events. | ||
