Details:	SUMMARY: DISINFECTION BYPRODUCTS INVESTIGATION DETAILS: The Circuit Rider was contacted by the Bay Hills Water Association following a disinfection byproducts test exceeding the MCL. The August 2014 DBP test result had a TTHM result of 0.0808 mg/L (MCL is 0.080 mg/L). The water system has a relatively large reservoir for their water demand. The source water can be high in TOC and Color. Also, the system practices chlorination prior to filtration. Previously discussed methods for decreasing DBP formation, including changing coagulant, decreasing water volume in tank, discontinuing prechlorination, and providing mechanical mixing in the tank. Met with tank mixer supplier for information on a more budget minded mixer for the water system’s reservoir. ACTION NEEDED: Provide further assistance with DBP reduction procedures as needed.
