Details: SUMMARY: Met with operator and member to discuss the violation with the water system DETAILS: The system received a violation for not reporting in the month of July because temporary routine samples were not taken by the lab. I explained to the operator that the month following a positive sample it was necessary to take 5 temporary routine samples. This true even though the repeat samples were all negative/ clear of bacteria. The lab they contract with failed to do so and therefore the water system received violation. ACTION NEEDED: I met with the operator & member (Kent) to look over the system. 1) the chlorine test kit did not have the proper test tubes, there was no calibration on the tubes. The calibration of the chlorine injection was in question but until they test the water properly there would be no reason to contact the Circuit Rider to do a follow up on their installation. I asked the operator to replace the Raw Water sample site, current it has a gate valve and 90 degree elbow and a reducer from 1 to 3/4" that is threaded and this is not sanitary. I asked for a smooth fitting to be added here. The rest rooms at the Pro-Shop were another sample site and water coming from the fixtures sprays on the bottom side of the faucet as the sample would be taken. Let water run for 4-5 minutes before taking. They stated that the Pyxis technetium does not let the water run for very long (approx. 20-30 sec) I asked them to contact their lab and air their concerns as to the sampling technique and to complain about their follow up testing schedule that gave them a violation. Chlorine residuals// accurately taken are a start. Nitrate sample is needed for 2015.Assessment sample should be taken after the piping is changed at the sample site. This well has high concentration of iron bacteria/ it could be causing a problem for the system.
