Details: SUMMARY: Routine Sample Taken 6/2/2016 was Positive for Total Coliform Bacteria DETAILS: E-mailed Silas.Just wanted to check in with you about the routine coliform sample positive 6/2/2016. You will take 3 repeat samples and 1 triggered source water assessment.On Tuesday I took a "special" sample at 179 Yodel Lane. This house is not inhabitated. The owner visits the house and runs the water. There has been a bad "sulfur" smell in the last few weeks. There was no smell when I took the water sample on June 7, 2016. Apparently the house next door had a bathroom that was not used and the water from that faucet had a strong "sulfur" smell.It occurs to me that these unoccupied houses or houses with unoccupied parts may be the source of bacteria? It might be interesting to sample and see if this is true???? ACTION NEEDED: None.
