Details: SUMMARY: Meeting to discuss improved corrosion control DETAILS: Attendees: PWB: Mike Stuhr, Chris Wanner, Gabe Solmer, Dave Peters, Scott Bradway, Kimberly Gupta, Yone AkagiOHA: Dave Leland, Kari SalisEPA: Dan Opalski, Marie Jennings, Fredianne Gray, Harold RogersAfter introductions, PWB went through the prepared powerpoint. PWB recapped the April meeting, updated EPA and OHA on PWBs work with schools, daycares and customer sampling. EPA and OHA discussed and clarified the States plans regarding schools and daycares. An update on the corrosion study and Q2 results were presented. Preliminary results indicate that uniform corrosion occurs in PWBs system, as well as some scale release. Treatment considerations were covered and PWB presented an accelerated 5-year schedule after a council decision in mid-2017. There are several risks to PWBs ability to meet this schedule, although PWB will work to mitigate these risks as much as possible. Portland shared preparations being made in anticipation of a Council decision next year. ACTION NEEDED: Action items: Portland to consider adding original LCR regulatory timelines to the schedule. Add OHAs role in determination of corrosion control in two places. OHA has to approve the corrosion pilot study and approve the final design. EPA is likely to follow up in writing with their expectations. PWB has agreed to provide a schedule to OHA as primacy agency and will share with EPA.
