Details: SUMMARY: FUNDING ASSISTANCE - IFA SIPP LOI DETAILS: The City of Gervais is located in Marion County with 644 services and serves an approximate population of 2,520. The existing water system, especially the water storage reservoir is aging. Corrosion at the upper levels of the interior of Reservoir No.1 was discovered several weeks ago resulting in chunks of rusted material falling into the reservoir and the structural integrity of the reservoir being questioned. With Reservoir No. 1 out of service, fire flow protection for the high school and several other large structures in Gervais will be significantly below Uniform Fire Code(UFC) standards. The City of Gervais has critically reduced fire protection capability due to having to take one of their two 350,000 gallon reservoirs offline. The IFA recommended that the City apply for funding through the SIPP program. Assisted water system with the start of the Letter of Interest for the IFA SIPP funding program. ACTION NEEDED: Assist with completion of LOI.
