| Details: | SUMMARY: Routine Coliform 8/16 Positive for E.coli DETAILS: Routine coliform from Widgeon cabin sink 8/16 E.coli positive. Called owner Bruce and discussed taking repeats and triggered samples as well as investigating possible cause. Discussed Boil Water advisory and contaminated water use protocol for restaurants if necessary and emailed him both templates. Bruce called Thursday evening that they found a Chipmunk in the well/reservoir and had removed. I did not require any additional samples since the contamination cause was obvious and went straight to correction phase. Bruce developed and posted boil water notices on cabins, lodge, signboards and sent me a copy. We discussed chlorinating 3000 gallon cistern/well to 50ppm overnight, flushing Friday morning and taking verification samples to ensure absent for bacteria. The well/cistern set up is unique and no way to take a "source" sample since its the same vessel as the cistern. ACTION NEEDED: I will make sight visit Friday and take residual chlorine measurement to ensure 0 before taking verification samples. Results should be available by Saturday morning. Need all follow up samples (at least 2) to be absent before lifting BN. | ||
