| Details: | SUMMARY: System did not meet CT on 1-7-18 - Tier 2 TT violation and PN required DETAILS: I called and spoke to Pat Schmidt about their monthly operating report for January 2018 in which the Actual CT was 42 (0.2 mg/l x 210 minutes), but the Required CT was 64 on January 7, 2018. They had overlooked the event and marked that they had met CT for that day. I explained the purpose of the CT determination and its importance in ensuring adequate giardia and viral inactivation. I let him know that he would need to post a public notice for the violation by the end of the month, leaving the notice up for around a week and long enough to reach affected customers, and send a copy of the notice with a description of when and how the notice was distributed to our office. I e-mailed a copy of the public notice template for disinfection treatment technique violations and let him know that he can call if he has any questions. He said he would get the notice posted and look up to see who might have been at the camp on January 7th. ACTION NEEDED: System to post Tier 2 public notice and send a copy to DWS indicating how and when the notice was distributed. Update - system distributed public notice 2-25-18 and emailed a copy of the notice to DWS on 2-26-18 | ||
