Details:	SUMMARY: Informed Operator About Oil in Well #4 CA DETAILS: The regional water master from Oregon Water Resources Div. informed the State of an issue that came to light when the well was being monitored for Static Water Levels. OWRD employee, Bob Wood, stated that his measuring tape was coated with oil. This well was converted from a Turbine pump to a submersible pump some years ago and it is likely that the oil leaked into the well from a faulty seal. The most recent VOC test on (Dec 6 2016) well 3 did not detect any Volatile Organics. If the oil was petroleum based lubricant the test should have detected that contaminant. ACTION NEEDED: I spoke with the operator and informed her of this issue. I asked that if any maintenance is performed on this well that the the removal of that oil be addressed. Next sample for Vocs are due in 2019, data will determine if any detection is noted.
