Disinfectant Residual Monitoring Results
Disinfectant residual monitoring is applicable to all community and non-transient non-community water systems that use chlorine or chloramines as a disinfectant. Monitoring period averages are calculated from the chlorine residual measurements on total coliform samples, taken from the distribution system. These are displayed on the
Coliform Results page.
The Maximum Residual Disinfectant Level (MRDL) for chlorine and chloramines is 4.0 mg/L, measured as free chlorine. Compliance with the MRDL is determined using the running annual average of monthly averages. Any running annual average that exceeds the MRDL is a violation and is indicated in bold red text.
