| Details: | DWS recently learned that - due to ongoing problems with various types of filters clogging from iron bacteria over time - the Water Co-op discontinued water system filtration some 7 years ago in favor of filters at each home. They stopped chlorinating at the same time. On May 25, 2017, we discussed surface water treatment requirements. Don provided the contact info for the Co-op secretary this week (Kim Bishop). I emailed her the boil notice template, and she completed and put it in the mail to residents today (10 homes). Update 07/27/2017: E. coli has been confirmed in the water system - EC was present in 4 samples (1 routine and 3 repeat samples). The Water Co-op secretary will prepare and distribute a new Boil Notice with this added information. |
