| Details: | The water system pulled an arsenic sample on 5/18 and it had a result of 48.5ppb. The EPA maximum level is 10ppb and the acute level in Oregon is 35ppb. therefore, the acute notice was given to the school for immediate action until the treatment is evaluated and is working properly with a passing arsenic result. Information will be reviewed as DWS hears from the school and treatment vendor.
6/27/22 Notified from the school (T.K.) that the arsenic sample collected did not pass. Current info is the treatment system is being reevaluated and a larger brine tank possibly installed. Will when information is received from the treatment vendor. System is still on a do not drink notice and informed TK that once the treatment is redone, a passing sample from an approved lab will be required before the notice can be lifted. Lifted 08/02/2022: The water system had maintenance performed on the arsenic treatment and a sample was collected on 7/13/22. The result was received on 8/1/22 and it was non-detect. The advisory is now lifted and system will be on increased monitoring (temporary) to have more frequent checks on the treatment system. |
