Details: | On 6/27/22 I received a call from DWS regarding a water pressure loss event at PGE Trojan Nuclear Plant #41-90511. I called the water system contact, Brian Hutchins, who told me he already has initiated a boil water notice and has posted the Oregon DWS templates throughout the workplace, and will verify that they are posted at all appropriate fixtures in the building (sinks, water fountains, etc.)
Brian also said that the pipe was being worked on getting repaired today, and that tomorrow they will work on flushing the system, disinfecting it, flushing it again and then collecting water samples.
The Boil Water Notice is active once the water samples show up as negative for total coliform, the system may lift the boil notice. Lifted 07/25/2022: I spoke with Brian Hutchins, who informed me that the pipe that a contractor allegedly broke has been fixed, positive pressure has been restored, the system was chlorinated and flushed and both of the "special" water samples came back negative for total coliform and e. coli. Therefore, Boil Water Notice may be lifted. Update 07/25/2022: Brian Hutchins contacted me that a leak was found and the system will have to depressurize, so the system is continuing the Boil Notice for the time being. |
