Details: The City of Powers has issued a boil water advisory as a result of possible pressure loss due to emergency repairs of a water main line break adjacent to the water treatment plant. Date boil initiated: Notice sent in advance 7/25/22, effective for 7/26/22. Location affected: All Powers customers. Services affected: All (approx. 350 connections). Expected Duration: Repairs completed on 7/26/22. Notification: Customers notified via Email to subscribers list email to news media flyers posted at city hall, library, post office, and grocery store. Also shared to Facebook by private party. The Boil Order will be lifted contingent on satisfactory results from 2 consecutive days of bacteriological sampling and confirmation of normal area chlorine residuals. Coos County environmental health services provided additional information to food services facilities affected by the boil.

Lifted 07/29/2022:  The water system operator informed me that test results for water samples came back absent of coliform bacteria. The boil order has been lifted. No further actions needed.
