| Details: | The system operator, Jim Oswald, called this evening to advise that the water system’s arsenic treatment system failed on the morning of Saturday, August 27th at approximately 7:00 AM. The system switched to stored water and ordered the necessary repair parts. However, the system ran out of treated water on the afternoon of Sunday, August 28th and subsequently issued a system-wide do not drink order at approximately 4:00 PM. Residents were notified via signage and by water system staff knocking on doors. The system will remain on a do not drink status until the system can be repaired. Update 09/02/2022: Operator advises at 3:30 PM that the repair parts (a pump) have arrived and that they will be installed by close of business today. The intent now is to leave the do not drink order in place until a water sample can verify the water is safe. Lifted 10/14/2022: After Jim Oswald, system operator, had a discussion with Casey Lyon from Drinking Water Services, it was determined that due to the recent Arsenic water system sample results, the "do not drink water" order may be lifted, which Jim says was lifted on 10/14/2022. |
