| Details: | Due to new storage tank installation and other work on the water system this system will be implementing a non-potable/boil water advisory beginning Monday October 3, 2022. Water is not being served to individual campsites, water is only being served for toilet and sink use. The public notice advisories are being posted at the check-in booth, website, and all over the bathrooms. The operator estimates the work will be complete late December and will follow up with flushing, shock chlorinating, and bacteria samples when work is completed.

Effective Sep 30, 2022 – Feb 28, 2023
Detroit Lake State Park campground will be upgrading its potable water system Oct. - Dec. 2022. During this time please expect the following when visiting the park:
Effective Sept. 30 there will be no water at the campsites. The restroom will remain open but water will be non-potable. Showers will not be available.
Please bring your own drinking water.
Campground loops A - D H will close Sept. 30.
Campground loop G will close Oct. 30.
Campground loop F will remain open. Update 02/06/2023: Operator is conducting startup procedures and shock chlorinating the new reservoir tank and distribution lines. Nitrate and special coliform samples will be taken and results will be shared afterwards to lift the boil advisory. Lifted 02/13/2023: System has been shock chlorinated and flushed, special coliform and nitrate samples have come back negative. System is lifting their advisory and will be completing routine coliform sampling and monthly reports. |
