| Details: | Steve informed me that on 12.21.22, at approximately 9:30 AM, Hunter Communications was conducting internet fiber optic works on Laurel Road and hit a main water line. The water system issued a boil notice due to total loss of pressure. The main break affected three service connections: two residencies and the Illinois Valley high school. No students were present at the high school. No food service facilities affected. Direct notification was provided to the affected customers. The water system is currently repairing the line. The boil notice will be lifted once water samples provide confirmation that there is no bacterial contamination. Lifted 12/28/2022: Alex reported this morning that the boil water advisory was lifted. The distribution system was flushed, and coliform bacteria samples came back clean. On 12.29.22 Steve reported that they are leaving the 10 inch line off. they were unable to blow off both ends. The other blow off was on the end of an 8 inch supply line to the reservoirs. They plan to install a blow off at the minimum, and possibly a fire hydrant to serve the area and serve as the blow off. Alex notified the high school and 1210 Laurel road the water is safe. 1275 Laurel road is vacant. |
