| Details: | Due to frozen piping, summer homeowners not shutting off water for the winter, power outages, and lack of water in the storage tank the City of Detroit is shutting off water to customers in order for the storage tank to refill. Customers have been notified of the water shutoff. Once service is restored the City has issued a boil water notice and will be updating customers regarding actions to take. Coliform samples will be taken once pressure is restored. Expected restoration is the first week of January.
1/5/23 : Power has been restored, and leaks were repaired in the distribution system. The City has switched over to a boil water advisory for all customers until coliform sampling is complete and sample results are negative. Lifted 01/06/2023: Coliform results are negative, and the city has lifted its boil water advisory. |
