| Details: | ORWARN Board Member Heather Knapp and Vanessa from Mapleton Water District called to notify DWS that the water system has shut off water to its customers due to power outages and other operational issues. The system is working with EWEB and Food for Lane County to provide potable water for customers.
Water system staff notified DWS that the water treatment plant SCADA system is showing error codes in the system. DWS recommended that the operator contact the designing engineer or the manufacturer for technical assistance. Water system is also working with Eugene Water Electric Board to find why the reservoir tank is not filling up. Suspected issue is there is a leak between the pumps and the reservoir tank that is not allowing tank refill. Water system staff noted that 20-40 of the 260 connections/households have water.
1/3/23 : EWEB has brought in emergency distribution water trailer and containers to distribute to Mapletons customers. System is also experiencing elevated turbidity. Florence is also assisting Mapleton WD. Lifted 01/31/2023: All coliform samples were negative for coliform. Boil water notice has been lifted and community has been notified. |
