| Details: | 3:00pm: Affected customers were notified by phone and hand delivered notice after a new waterline installed sent water into the distribution system before confirming it was coliform absent. The waterline had been chlorinated and partially flushed after installation. The city chose to notify affected customers as a precaution. Coliform samples have been collected. If absent, the boil water will be lifted.
UPDATE 4:15pm: The city discovered an open valve near the Culvert Highway that may have pulled contaminants into the distribution system during flushing. Not knowing the extent of customers effected, a city-wide advisory is in affect. The city is utilizing the Everbridge Emergency Alert System to notify customers. Lifted 03/04/2023: After extensive flushing on Friday 3/3, samples were collected in the affected area near Madison Street to T Street. Samples results were coliform absent lifting the boil water on Saturday at 11:12am using the Everbridge Emergency Alert System. The City also notified Jefferson County Health Department. |
