Details: | Additional special sampling in the area of the new waterline installation was E. coli positive. This is the same dead end service line with 3 connections. There was a total coliform positive on the opposite side that serves 25 connections. Avion continues to investigate whether contaminants may have been introduced during installation or it is from a cross-connection. There is an irrigation canal nearby that customers use. Affected customers will remain on advisory until issue is resolved. Update 07/24/2023: Gene emailed that two samples results back yesterday afternoon wee total coliform positive. Flushing of affected area continues via blow offs at the end of lines on Hamehook and Deschutes Market Rds. Two more samples were collected yesterday pending results. Update 08/01/2023: Gene emailed about the water advisory for the installation of a new water main. Four of five special samples collected on 7/25 were total coliform positive, absent of e. coli. The affected area was chlorinated on 7/27. Once chlorine has dissipated and measured as zero, additional samples will be collected 7/31. He will notify DWS of pending results. - M. Byrd Lifted 08/02/2023: Gene emailed that two samples collected on 7/31 in the affected area were coliform absent and the advisory will be lifted. Crew are in the area today installing backflow assemblies on services that did not have them. Flushing and monitoring of this area will continue to insure the issue has been resolved. - M. Byrd |
