Details: | I received an alert on 8/4/23 for an e-coli positive routine sample taken 8/3/23 at a hand pump (TILL719) for the site. A level 2 coliform investigation conducted by Tillamook County on 8/3/23 found some construction issues that may have led to previous coliform positive results. I called Claire Robinson and recommended that the handle be removed from the hand pump and a boil notice posted due to the e-coli result, recent history of other positive results (including a boil notice last month), and the construction issues found on 8/3/23. Tillamook County will need to follow up on Monday.
Sent an email to Claire on 8/5 with instructions for shocking instructions. During the level 2 investigation, Claire had been trying to get the company that installed the new hand pump to respond to issues or come on-site for a month prior to the e coli hit.
Coliform fact sheet with shock chlorination instructions are online at: https://www.oregon.gov/oha/ph/HealthyEnvironments/DrinkingWater/Monitoring/Documents/health/colibact.pdf
8/11/2023 (08/04) afternoon the handle was removed that evening. Recreation staff out on Saturday posting notices and educating all the guests at that location.
As of right now, the handle is off and the system is going to be kept offline until they figure out what is going on with the system.
