| Details: | On 8/15/22, Tooley Water District was placed on a Tier 1 Notice due to a high nitrate sample of 13.2 mg/l, exceeding the MCL. As a precaution, tap water, juice, and formula prepared with tap water should not be given to infants under 6 months of age. Instead, parents should use bottled water or water low in nitrates until further notice. Jessica sent an email to NCPHD at 9:27 am, informing them that a "Do Not Drink" advisory was issued to customers this morning. Robert will retake sampling at both wells. Update 08/16/2023: Tooley Water District contacted NCPHD to inform samples for both wells were taken on 8/15/2023 around 1 pm and dropped off at the lab around 3 pm. Lifted 09/01/2023: NCPHD reached out to Tooley Water District to request the most recent sample results for Nitrates. On 8/23/14 Nitrate results for the Lower Well #2 were at 3.2 mg/l. The advisory is being lifted and Tooley Water District will be directed to notify customers. |
