Details: | System issued a partial boil water advisory to 46 residential connections north of Hwy 26 on 7/15/23. A residential fire on the highway resulted in water being pulled from the clearwell to fulfill firefighting efforts. Clearwell effluent flows were 215 gpm and consequently the system was unable to meet the required CT for disinfection on 7/15/23. Customers were immediately notified of the boil water advisory via social media, door hanger, phone call, and a community email. The system never lost pressure and a chlorine residual was detectable during this event (clearwell effluent 0.2 mg/L). Lifted 07/16/2023: The fire was contained and fire crews were able to safely haul water and use hydrants designed with fire flow protection capabilities. System was able to meet CT on 7/16/23. The system was flushed at the end of the pressure zone for ~6 hours. The boil water notice was lifted on the morning of 7/16/23. Impacted customers were informed by telephone. |
