| Details: | The whole system is being placed on a system-wide boil water advisory. The pumps that pump water out of the tanks (fed by wells) were struck by lightning, which caused the system to run dry for a short period. Pressure has been restored, but a boil advisory is being issued due to risk of contamination entering the system. The message has been put on social media but they are planning to print the notice in English and Spanish and deliver it door to door on Sunday. There are no restaurants or grocery stores on the system, mostly residential. Schools are planning to start Tuesday.
Once they are sure pressure is restored throughout the system, the operator will collect 4 samples in town and one at the pump station. They hope to find a lab to analyze the sample over the holiday weekend so the advisory can be lifted as soon as possible.
Lifted 09/07/2023: Kyle received confirmation from the testing lab today that all special samples were good. The boil advisory is being lifted today. |
