Details: | As of the October 11th sample results were known the operator of this system placed a precautionary boil water advisory on this system. Repeat samples were not taken the system had to activate well #2 (EP-B) due to well #3 pump failure. Well #2 lists gas chlorination for residual maintenance but in fact there is no available chlorine at that entry point. The operator believes this well is GUDI (Groundwater Under Direct Influence) and therefore the boil water. System did not submit November coliform sample. My conversation with operator 12-19-18 suggested that coliform samples be taken one in distribution (routine) and one assessment (AS) from well #2 since the well is identified as having chlorination. Contact with Michelle Byrd OHA- Drinking Water, she will 1) Activate well #2 and s status on the treatment at that well . I have asked operator to sample for Nitrates Arsenic from well #2 and to copy NCPHD with the boil water posting at the Dam.
Well #3 is scheduled for repair starting on January 7th, 2019. Operator to us when well #3 is again active.
Lifted 01/02/2019: Both the Routine Distribution(RT) and Assessment (AS) sample from well #2 were absent of coliforms. The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted. The system was not being chlorinated at the of the distribution sample. DBPs were not submitted in 2018 since the chlorinator was off line. |
