| Details: | Stephanie, the city recorder, was instructed by the operator (Liz) to notify DWS of the resent line break that affected 115 customers on the north side of the city.
11.14.2023-There were 5 customer connections in the immediate area of the break that were directly affected when the crew located and isolated the break. Customers in that area were notified in person (if someone was home) and by phone. Because the water was isolated and shut off resulting in a loss of pressure on that line, the crew requested for Stephany to issue the advisory notice for the remainder of the north side customers- approximately half of the water system users. The advisory notice was emailed to city media contacts and their notification list (approximately 115 citizens subscribed). No food service facilities were affected. No language access services needed. The boil advisory was also posted on the local community Facebook group and in several locations in the community (library, city hall, grocery store, and post office).
City public works finished repairing the leak at 10 P.M and will follow up with standard contaminant testing protocol. The boil advisory is expected to be lifted on Friday, 11.17.2023. Lifted 11/17/2023: Stephanie Patterson reported that follow up testing of the drinking water has returned results showing the absence of bacterial contamination. The boil advisory was lifted today. |
