| Details: | Gail and Steve, operator on duty, notified me today that on 12/27 at 11 am, the District was notified that certain connections were out of water. A 40 year old 25 foot section of 10 inch watermain broke in the area of Grange Hall Road, causing approximately 600 homes to be without water in the central part of system. District issued a no pressure boil water notice to these affected customers on 12/27 by calling, issuing a press release covered by local media, and providing notice on District webpage. Section of broken main fixed over night, system flushed, service pressure restored, free chlorine residuals up to 1.00 mg/L, and coliform sample(s) being taken this morning to be sent to lab later today. District will consult with DWS with lab results to discuss lifting local boil water notice. Lifted 12/29/2018: At around 1 pm on 12/29/18, Steve, contacted DWS, and indicated that the coliform sample came back coliform absent. DWS approved lifting the localized boil water notice at that time. The District has d its webpage with this information and is notifying customers that the boil water notice has been lifted with the absent results. |
