Details: Gene notified me that the Greater Avion water system is on a boil water notice due to a 18-inch mainline break and loss of pressure on Tuesday evening around 7:30 - 8:00. The mainline break occurred at Knott Road just east of 15th street (Bend area). Approximately 8,300 customers (est. 7,750 homes and est. 550 businesses) east of line break were affected. The break has been repaired and staff are flushing the waterlines. Samples will be collected today with results expected by noon tomorrow. The boil water notice does not include outlying areas served by Avion Water. Information has been posted on their website (https://avionwater.com/notices.html), social media, and radio.

Update 01/23/2019:  The water supplier has ruled out the area west of Hwy 97 on the south end of Bend. Customers (about 3,000) supplied by the reservoir at Deschutes River Woods within the Brookswood area include two schools.

Lifted 01/24/2019:  As of 5:30 am on Thursday January 24th, the water samples collected the previous day were coliform absent and the boil water notice has been lifted.
